Silent Confessions

The floorboard creaks with a tale to tell,

its groan breaks the silence, like a ringing bell.

Underfoot, it whispers of lives once lived,

a map of the past, all secrets it gives.

Each step that I take stirs memories awake,

a history captured in the cracks it makes.

Through dim light I wander, just trying to find,

those stories still trapped, echoing in my mind.
