Routine Noise

Every dawn, a bark pierces the calm,

a dog’s eagerness swells like a psalm.

My neighbor leaves, the clock ticks loud,

while I sip my coffee, still wrapped in the shroud.

The sound's a trigger for thoughts to begin,

we rise for others, our mornings spin.

Today, the barking rang with fierce might,

like a call to the living, to step into light.
