The Void of Silence

I called for your voice, yet all that I found

was the empty reply of a tone, so profound.

A bridge left unbuilt, just static and sighs,

what words were to come now hidden from eyes.

In that silence, I lingered, holding my breath,

a heartbeat pulsing through layers of death.

With questions unasked, I just stared at the phone,

it felt like a promise, yet left me alone.
