The Ritual of Rain

When the downpour begins, I reach for a book,

it pulls me inside, where the pages can look.

The crack of the thunder matches each word,

a symphony played by the silence unheard.

Raindrops are music on windows, they trace,

a path to the stillness, a gentle embrace.

Lost in the story, the world fades away,

just me and the words, until night turns to day.
