Fading Letters

My pen strokes now frantic, the ink splatters quick,

letters once danced, now feel rough and thick.

With each hurried note, I feel pieces unmade,

as echoes of elegance fade into shade.

Crumpled pages lie crammed in a drawer,

and all of my thoughts scream of wanting much more.

Where once flowed a river of curves and of grace,

now scribbles in haste, all lost in the race.
