Desire for Connection

From my window, I watch as two hands intertwine,

against the world, so tender, so fine.

They cradle each other like secrets and dreams,

while I’m just a shadow, unraveling seams.

A simple touch whispered in the evening glow,

a longing within me, a pain that won’t go.

Like petals left wilting on a bench in the park,

I crave the caress, the spark in the dark.
