Childhood Road Trips

In the back seat, the world stretched wide,

a rumble of laughter where secrets reside.

The fabric, it holds every giggle and tear,

miles washed over us, all worries laid bare.

Windows rolled down, hair dancing in flight,

while we chased the horizon into the night.

That ghost of a journey, forever still near,

drowned in the hum of a familiar cheer.
