Forgotten Shades

Beneath the thaw, a forgotten sock hides,

it once held the promise of fresh winter rides.

Now mottled with dirt, it tells tales of days,

when purity danced in the sun’s gentle rays.

What used to be white now lies layered in grime,

a token of moments that once felt like time.

Each fold tells a story, of laughter and play,

it waits for redemption, like spring after gray.
