Lessons in Defeat

The ring was a circle, my spirit unwound,

a battle of hearts, on shaky ground.

Echoes of cheers, now muffled, recline,

I fought for respect, and lost what was mine.

My words were my fists, heavy with pride,

a lesson delivered when I felt most denied.

With every misstep, a bruise in my chest,

I learned that to fight, sometimes means to rest.

But now I reflect, on the toll it had borne,

as the memories linger, frayed and worn.

In defeat, I found strength, a flicker of grace,

a truth wrapped in scars, I will learn to embrace.
