Memories Etched in Metal

Amidst cluttered memories, I dug and I found,

a rusted dog tag, long lost from the sound.

Engraved with a name, like echoes abound,

a sliver of love, yet forgotten, unbound.

In its metallic glimmer, stories lay bare,

of loyalty, laughter, moments we share.

Each scratch in the surface, a bond, a despair,

that lingers like shadows, just drifting on air.

What weight in this scrap, a tale never told,

it rests in my palm, feelings untamed, uncontrolled.

A token of past that forever holds gold,

a reminder that love cannot be sold.
