The Half That’s Not Me

In the shop window’s glare,

a sliver of glass stares back.

My eye’s twin, a cold glass spark,

catching fluorescent hums like lies.

A fraction off, it doesn’t blink,

doesn’t catch the light like the real one.

It’s a quiet rebel, cold and still,

a shadow in the mirror’s fractured will.
