Torn Threads

Fresh from the ER, the pain holds me tight,

a bandage pressed down, everything feels right.

With every sharp breath, I sense my own thread,

easy to tear, how fragile we tread.

Each stitch a reminder, a promise of care,

woven through skin, yet I feel so bare.

The tug of the fabric, a lesson in trust,

how quickly we fracture, how quickly we rust.

I see life unravel, both tender and raw,

tangled in moments that mirror a flaw.

In the quiet of healing, I pause and reflect,

a truth in the stitches, a gentle defect.
