Gathering Hearts

Laughter bubbles in a crowded space,

a potluck table, with all its grace.

Dishes abound, memories to share,

a taste of friendship, made with care.

But shadows flicker in the bright array,

a longing for faces that drifted away.

Scattered like crumbs on the warm, baked bread,

i wonder if love can be easily spread.
