The alarm clock blinked a ghost in the night

The alarm clock blinked, a ghost in the night,

as sunlight spilled in, a harsh morning light.

I missed my chance, a meeting, a chance to be brave,

a moment lost now, all I can do is wave.

The cracked face of time, hands frozen at eight,

days slipping away, borne on the weight.

With each breath I take, I wonder what’s next,

a ticking reminder of moments perplexed.
