Stretch Marks of Time

I feel the creaks in my knees,

each step a tiny protest,

a whisper of time's unyielding grasp,

as I try to run like I used to,

each push forward, a reminder.

The world once seemed like a sprint,

a blur of colors and joy,

yet here I am, moving slow,

stretching memories across the pavement,

my body sings a different song,

a tune only time knows the words to.
